Favorite Video Game Generation?

Post by J.D »

Hey guys. What is your favorite video game generation? Mine would have to be the 4th generation of video games, as there were great consoles such as the Turbografx-16, Sega Genesis, and the Super Nintendo, with games like Sonic 2, Bonk's Revenge, and Super Mario World, among hundreds of others. So, what's yours?

I personally like the original gameboy/N64 era. Not sure which generation that is. 6th maybe?
A truly wise man can entertain a thought without accepting it. A fool cannot withhold past judgments but instead closes his mine to new possibilities. Someone who wants to innovate simply needs to forget what everyone says isn't possible.

GBC/N64 is 5th generation. The original Gameboy is like 3/4/5th generation though, lol

That's the 4th generation. If you aren't quite sure what generation of consoles you like, check out this: http://gaming.wikia.com/wiki/Video_game ... enerations" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

5th generation is what sticks to me the most. I play my N64 more than any other console I have. And the only reason I'm into my DS right now is because of Pokemon (which I would be playing on GBC anyways).

What generation was Dreamcast, 5th or 6th?

I played Snes a lot, but I have more fond memories of the N64 and it's games.

Current gen is to much "movie" like. I hate watching hours of cutscenes and then playing for 10 minutes and more cutscenes. :roll:

Plus I loved instant access of carts. Waiting for a game to load drives me nuts.

It'd have to be 4th and 5th for me.

Genesis, SNES, Jaguar, 3DO, Saturn, PlayStation, and N64...endless fun.

This exactly. SNES was my first console but N64 was my favorite.

I guess I'm one of the rare cases here on benheck that thinks the current generation is the best. I've loved each generation, since before the NES, better than the last. I always love seeing better graphics, prettier worlds, and deeper stories. While certain games from previous generations are better, I like the PS3/360 better as a whole. Call me crazy.

I loved the N64 and the GBC era. That's probably just because it was what I grew up with. I just missed the SNES by a few months.

I also loved the Xbox/PS2/Gamecube Generation. Those were good times.
