Connecting Two Controllers to a Single Set of Tact Switches?

How would one go about connecting buttons from a controller to a simialar set of tact switches, like Ben's NEStari?

Would you connect them by soldering each of the two connections from the controllers to the opposite end of the four leads on the tact switch, like in the picture?

Looks right to me, just make sure one system is off at all times. Alternatively, you could put a switch in on the ground of each controller to cut off the buttons' connection to the controller board while the other system is being used.

OK, awesome!

As for having atleast one off at all times, I can cover that problem by using a 3-way switch that allows for only one system to be on.

Also, is it possible to connect multiple analog sticks to a single one? Not that I would be using two analog sticks for the systems I'd be using, but curiosity has got me on this one.

I'm sure you could do that as well, and you'd be able to use one of them at a time or even both of them I believe except then nothing will be working right and if you turn them all the way up there will be double the resistance over the contacts.

I'd be careful about using them both at once, a switch may be a good thing to have in there.

And of course, I'd imagine connecting them both to the PSone screen would only require soldering both systems' audios and videos directly to their respective locations on the screen, right?

Two analog sticks to the same controller wont work if the analog sticks use pots.

wellll.... They would probably work at neutral 0% and 100% but the in-between areas would get weird... draw out the resistors for two potentiometers in parallel and figure it out yourself. Its probably a second-order equation or something.
