gcn arcade

Post by little tux »

here's my idea

http://www.geocities.com/bsatroop542/gcn_arcade.bmp

all in an arcade cabinet!
(web address is correct, only place i could find space)

also, i am thinking about loading all of the games onto some central hard drive and running an emulator... but that's illegal
(but, a lot of things are illegal, and a bunch of people do illegal things)
the world would be a much better place without any llamas

Hush now...

As for the arcade idea: This would be excelent if you could get a CD-changer mechinism goin'. Then you just chose a game from a list, hit the coresponding button and have fun...good luck man...

There was one made for the xbox, its one of a kind, and it belongs to Justin Timberlake.

And that wasn't a joke either.

well, I thought about just loading all of the games on a hard drive and running an emulator, but that's illegal...

never thought of the cd changer, that's actually quite a good idea

In Popular Science they told you how to make an arcade-in-a-box (just a PC mounted in an arcade box). Maybe you could get a new PC with a high-end graphics card and play any emulated game you want thnrough the cd drive. I'll try and make a pic.

Not to mention extremely difficult. If it was an older sytem you could do a PC arcade box (use mame or any other PC emulator) but Gamecube isn't emulated very well yet.

Xbox arcade hardware is called Chihiro, and it certainly isn't owned solely by Justin Timberlake ;)

that's right... there are no emulators for the gcn!!!!!!!!
oh well. i suppose another choice would be to have about 10 gcn disk drives and have some type of switch like a rotary switch that controls which one gets power
