uhhhhhh over-xclamped?

Post by stuntpenguin007 »

So, my 360 started rroding again, so I unplugged the fan and stuck it over just the cpu. The guide said 20 minutes, but I think I may have accidentally let it run 50 minutes or so. After letting it cool for 15 minutes, it still rrod's.

Is it time to upgrade to a jasper or do I just need to keep on trying :?
It's had the rrod and been fixed 4 times now...

bummer. I say get a new one. Try to sell it on ebay and you can usually get at least $50 for it.

yeah, I could sell it on ebay, but I'd feel like a scammer unless I included that its had the rrod 4 times before and I may have totally fried the gpu :|

might see if I can get a falcon that doesn't have the newest bootloader, then I can run linux on it and put libxenon to work with my minimal programming skills. I'd try to get one that was just m$ refurbished or brand new though, which might be tough. I'm gonna have to go to like 5 stores and have them unlock the cases so I can look in the handle where you hold the box to see what model it is :D

Typically the heat doesn't kill the chip even if you go over. chips can tolerate it and the whole point of doing this is to let the solder flow a little better..

Maybe loosen the clamps some, and make sure you have decent connections...
