A portable Xbox with a flashed TSOP would be really cool. You could leave out the DVD drive, and use an upgraded hard drive. That way, you could store over a hundred games on it, and run many good emulators. You would still need an ethernet port, so you could transfer programs via FTP. It would be great.

Other than that, Gamecube would be the best portable.

One you cant remove the Xbox dvd-rom (integrated). Two there is a limit to the size of the hard drive you can install (140 gb. Which translats to what 45-55 games?

Physically, you are able to remove the Xbox DVD Rom by removing two cables and two Torx screws. Also, a BIOS can easily be edited to not check for a DVD Drive.

Newer BIOS no longer have the 137 GB limit. I have heard of up to 78 games on a 120 GB drive.

I'm not saying it will ever happen, but I thought it might be cool, especially because of the accuracy of the emulators. Entire ROM goodsets would take only a fraction of the HD.

Now that I think of it, shrinking down the board and integrating a controller seems impossible.

78 games on a 120 gig? Thats 1.5 gigs a game. I dont think the Xbox games are that small more like 3-4.7 gigs each thats why your limited to ~40 games.

If you can I'd like to see the guide/tourtorial that tells how to remove the DVD-rom.

There's a modchip (being developed) to let you run stuff from mini DVD's! Here's some pictures!
