What's your best portable project injury story?

Post by geeoh »

I peeled the skin off of the tip of my right pointer finger while trying to get my circa 1990 SNES open. The case was brittle, yellow, and cracked, so it looked like it could pried open with my fingers. I saw a picture of Ben doing this in his book, so I tried it myself. I got blood all over my SNES. My wife applied crazy glue on my finger tip to stop the bleeding. It healed quite nicely. When I finish my SNES portable, I will call it the Bloody SNESP. :o

Ive cut myself with knives a few times, also burnt myself a few times. Nothing that bad. :) (Exept the cuts, when blood goes everywhere! :P)

I left the hot glue on all day once and forgot about it. When I picked it up some got on my hand and I couldn't shake it off. I was running around yelling obscenities like a crazy man  I tried taking it off with my other hand so then I had 2 hands burning.

Got a heck of a burn blister afterwards.

I also have the standard solder burns, knife cuts, voltage shocks, etc. Once I even drilled into my finger! That hurt

over the year I've gotten TONS of injuries ;)....let's see here, theres the time I stabbed myself in the ankle with my iron accidentally :(..I burnt my finger real bad, and I've gotten tons of other pretty bad burns on various places......I've gotten the obvious small burns from hot glue and small taps with the soldering iron, a few small shocks.....there are are probably more but I can't think of 'em right now :P (nor do I WANT to think about them ;))
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Small burns
Small cuts/punches
120V of wall outlet goodness numbing my whole arm.

Not portable injurys, but I have stapled through my finger(thumb actually), foot, and arm (separate times). Once when I went though my arm, I hit the artery, and then the staple twisted, and ripped a giant chunk of my arm, and had to go to the hospital at 11:30am (YEAH, no school for the day). In Home Ec, I burnt my ear and neck. I was boiling water, and dropped something next to the stove, bent over to pick it up, and on my way up, my head met a 6 foot flame. The class before me had made bacon, and some moron spilt grease under the element, and left it, then it caught fire and, man, did that ever go up in flames! Positive side, the fire alarm went off(after my teacher, the one who taught about what to do incase of a fire, pulled it), and we all got to hang outside for an hour on a great June's day. My smoke mark is still on that ceiling, 2 year later.

As for project related, I have had the standard stuff his some major shocks, cuts, and burns. I have also had some bad electrical injurys from other things.
