I'm pretty sure that we're not allowed to discuss these kind of things here

It fine to talk about how to do it, just not where to download illegal files (like game roms and isos). Because we're all talking theory here, right guys?hailrazer wrote:I'm pretty sure that we're not allowed to discuss these kind of things here

5. Legality is cruise control for cool. This rules speaks for itself; don't cross into the dark gray area by discussing and exchanges warez (illegal software and media). This includes modchips and softmods that bypass the copy protection built into modern consoles. We're not here to punish you and get you in trouble with the law - but it's not worth risking!

Very rarely a good idea to ask for that information in a forum. Also, your Google-Fu is weak. Train harder.argelfraster wrote:How do i mod an xbox 360 to play pirated games?

Use Google.argelfraster wrote:What?ArugulaZ wrote:Your Google-Fu is weak. Train harder.
Talked to some of the staff, that rule is more of a guideline. Just don't post links to where you can get illegal stuff, and its all good. We assume that people will only use the info with games they own.

Re: Xbox 360; Pirated games
I was asked to do this mod to someone's xbox, all I wanted was some information on how to do it.
I'm not doing anything illegal.
So, does anyone know how to do this mod?

Zero modded his Xbox 360 disk drive to play pirated games. You'll have ask him though.
Re: Xbox 360; Pirated games
since we are zombie-ing dead threads I may as well put down my 2 cents.
xbox scene has a lot of info. check it out. their forums is actually deadicated (sticking with zombie theme here) to helping you bypass the security and play burnt games. Keep in mind that there is a significant risk involved with this. I don't mod 360s for people because they have far to great a failure rate.. I dont know if anyone has tested Jasper for RROD longevity, but the reality is that anything pre-jasper is going to be anywhere from 25% - 70% likely to RROD. Since the warranty has been extended that makes it not worth it to do.

Thats like saying "Hey I just sold the terrorist the C4 Plastic Explosive, I didn't blow up the building". I mean common. Piracy is illegal and its a very grey area, dark grey in fact, to propose that position.argelfraster wrote:I was asked to do this mod to someone's xbox, all I wanted was some information on how to do it.

To be honest with you I have 2 friends who did this mod a few months ago, its actually very easy to do. And have been playing pirated games 2-3 weeks before thier launch. Just yesterday both their consoles were banned for playing a pirated copy of modern warfare 2. Microsoft is going nuts about this stuff, and rightfully so there is too much money involved in allowing this to continue. So your not doing your "buddy" and favors by allowing him to ban his console. And I must say I laughed in both thier faces because they thought they were the coolest crap on XBL and bragged about all their games. They tried to get me to join in and I warned them they would get banned, damn I love being right.
Read this article about this:
http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/104/1040853p1.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Or check out Major Nelson's blog where he talks about it:
Our commitment to combat piracy and support safer and more secure gameplay for the more than 20 million members of our Xbox LIVE community remains a top priority. All consumers should know that piracy is illegal, and that modifying their Xbox 360 console to play pirated discs, violates the Xbox LIVE terms of use, will void their warranty and result in a ban from Xbox LIVE. The health of the video game business depends on customers paying for the genuine products and services they receive from manufacturers, retailers, and the third parties that support them.
I build rocket parts for a living... really

Piracy really can't be compared to terrorism. Also I'm not doing this mod, I was just finding out how to do it; for a friend.rcullan wrote:Thats like saying "Hey I just sold the terrorist the C4 Plastic Explosive, I didn't blow up the building".
