I have a dilema.
My sisters old boyfriend gave me a red ring'd 360 for me to have. no cords, no nothing to test it with. then a week later, he gave me the power and AV cables. right AV, wrong power cable. there are two plasitc nubs on the inside of the male connector that arent accounted for in the female connector. can i just wire the pins or do i need a whole new power supply?
power cable?

Re: power cable?
You probably have a newer revision of the power supply than the Xbox. The newer Xboxes draw less power, so they have smaller power supplies. You'll need to buy an older power brick to use with that Xbox.

What are you trying to do?
For an XBOX 360, it is not worth it to try to run it off of a battery. Maybe for short testing, but the thing draws so much power, batteries drain far too quickly.

...so I have been reading. i need something to test it with, yes. when i get the unit running, i can then try to fix it, perchance with that penny fix i heard about. if the rings go away, then i can get the correct power supply. (i want to know if the blasted thing works before i mod itsnowpenguin wrote:What are you trying to do?

I intend to make it into a laptop. this will be my first project, but i will use bens guide for wiring and such.
you know, IF the thing is fit for duty
