Find one cheap, non-working, and repair it. I had to re-cap all of my tube radios. One of my most interesting ones is a Magic-tone model 504 whiskey bottle radio from 1947.

The tubes do pretty much the same thing to the music that vinyl does.

I've played a NES and SMS, i've used a VHS a million times, i've used an electronic typewriter, i've used a record player, I can appreciate the value in antiques, I still love 80's and 70's music and movies..

believe me, it's not that bad, some of us are in the know :P
I'm 15 and I use my record player more than my CD player in my room  Most of my movies are on VHS and my family car doesn't have a CD player because we all use cassettes :D But, yeah I do agree that a lot of younger kids are now overly sheltered. Whatever, their loss

A good portion of all that we value, as proven by this thread, is that which we have because we can't afford the newest and best stuff.

If I had a Blu ray player and an HDTV, I wouldn't care about the old barely-in-colour movies nearly as much as I would as I do in the standard-definition world I currently reside. But to me, anything post 1975 looks just as good to me as something released yesterday.

Given the chance, though, I'd get an HDTV and a blu-ray library in an instant.

Nah, I have some decent technology in my house.

I just know how to appreciate a good film regardless of it's age.

Lol
A truly wise man can entertain a thought without accepting it. A fool cannot withhold past judgments but instead closes his mine to new possibilities. Someone who wants to innovate simply needs to forget what everyone says isn't possible.

You couldn't find the schematic on Nostalgia Air?

Nice console, btw; I don't have anything nearly that nice.

Local farmer, only in his 40's stands by this philosophy: "When the [Eastern countries] cut us off, grass will still grow, horses will still eat it. A good mare will give me 20 more horses, a good stallion, over a hundred. Show me a tractor that can do that." He's out in the fields with his team every day, listening to MP3s on his iPhone, and he doesn't want a damn thing to do with tractors. Some farmers are all for that "convenience", but some will always want to do it their way.

As for myself, I'm closer to 30 than I am to 20. My childhood involved renting this to watch on an old b&w 6-channel TV. Hell, we didn't get color TVs and cable at my place until I was 20. I somehow got into X-Files when it was on Fox, and I'd have to go watch it at my grandparents' place every week.

I've got a DVD player, and a laptop, but the newest game console I own is a PS2. I won't have an LCD TV because I want to play Duck Hunt. I've got a massive collection of vinyl and cassettes, but I've still got an MP3 player. (6 years old, 5gb capacity) I'm still using a cell from before cameras and internet were included. Some of it's my chitty financial situation, some of it's I don't want or care about the latest stuff.

I use composite because I've yet to get anything S-Vid to work for me, no matter what I try. Hell, RF still looks fine to me. If I can read/see/hear it, I'm happy. End of story.

i didn't know you couldn't play duckhunt on an lcd. i always played hogan's alley on my portable dvd player on car trips
well, i hate everything past dvd players. i personally don't like dvd players, but they're handy. i won't buy blu ray, i won't buy ps3 i MIGHT get a wii(hate the controller, i'd just use the gamecube controller and play virtual console stuff) i'm not sure about the 360. if i could, i'd play everything post-1995 on a vintage tv and play everything after 1995 on a newer tv.

everything older is better. i'd rather watch AWA wrestling than ecw or wwe. the only newer things i love are computers and this new thing called "internet"

I have the best basement ever. Around my 52" Bravia is a bunch of Beatle VINYLS. I'm still trying to get a record player to play them and I also have a VHS and Cassette player down there.

I'm 14 and I love old stuff! Especailly my grandpa's CoCo computer. That thing's awesome. Technology today is too user friendly. I love the sense of accomplishment. It's like "HEY, it actually works!"
Plus, it fell off the table twice and there isn't even a dent on it. I'd like to see a psp go through that.
