I think it sounds like a good idea. I believe my C64 laptop had the most comments of any story since the site redesign, so people like computers!

Replace the Arcade forums? I wouldn't go as far as wanting to remove the whole Arcade Forum. There's still good knowledge in there even if it isn't visited.Skyone wrote:I'd actually suggest turning the Development Center into a Computer Center or something. It would contain both talk about programming and recent computers. To build off of what others have said, we should also have a "Other Systems" forum, maybe it should replace the Arcade forums.

The topics/posts would stay intact, it would be renamed, is all.

No, not moved to Reference.
1. Questions never beloned there ;P
2. Depending on when the subdomain gets set up again, we're reinstalling MediaWiki and integrating its user system with the forums (like the showcase), Keep adding stuff to it, though. We don't know when the subdomain will be set up (waiting for Ben to do it through Cpanel or whatever other tool exists).

I agree with Skyone's idea. That way we don't clutter the site with too many forums, and at the same time get to restructure 2 of the forums that don't get much traffic to hopefully make them more popular.

Done!
Development Center is now "Computer tech" and is between Reference and Tech Q&A.
Renaming Arcade Hacking to "Miscellaneous" now.
