It's likely, but a frontlight would be easier.

Lighting element and diffusion panel would be too small. Mash-Mods.com had a frontlit kit for Wonderswans and SwanCrystals, but they seem to be sold out ATM.

Thanks, but it looks like they are going to be sold out for a long time...

Are there any other places I could buy it?

You cannot backlight. You cannot frontlight.

If you need a frontlight, behold my awesome internet powerz! http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/p ... ber=G13752" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That thing has a frontlight, and it will work. :mrgreen:

wait.....

I can replace the wonderswan screen with this one, and it will work and be front-lit? I find that hard to believe, but if true, I might just do that so I can get some use out of my WonderSwan Color. Sucks the 1 battery for said wonderswan probably wouldn't last long with a screen like that.

I'm pretty sure that you don't replace the screen. I'm thinking you just take the fronlight from that screen and put it on the WonderSwan screen.

But I might be mistaken.

You would have to salvage the frontlight panel from that screen and transplant it, just like a GBA SP frontlight swap.

And actually, most frontlights use hardly any power at all, I would think that they battery life would only take a minor hit.

Ah makes sense then. I thought you meant to replace the screen itself with the one you linked to. : sighs: My modding skills are not up to that level, so I cannot do it right now (only have one Wonderswan ATM and would rather not be wonderswan-less if I screw this up).

I used to frontlight the WonderSwans with the Afterburner kits. There was just a very small area at the bottom of the screen that wasn't lit but it was very playable and much better than no light.
