Re: NEST build log
How big is the screen pulled apart (w & h)? Does it fit on top of the NES with NES case to spare? I have a portable in mind for the future and want to know the upper limit of an LCD.

To d_stilgar:
It is 9" x 7" and yes it would fit on the top of a NES box.
To Sonyportabliezer:
It has two video inputs but no sound; no speakers. It also runs on 12 v DC.

Re: NEST build log
Wow. Just wow. I think this is better then a hand-held NES! Bigger screen and you don't have a huge cart sticking out the back.
Something like this would be perfect for long trips (in car on Bus or Train; doubt airport security would allow it through) if a battery was added. Otherwise, its just a great mini-system. Would have loved to have something like that when I lived in the dorms (or even now in my small apartment). Only thing that would make it better is if you added video out in case you want to play NES on a normal TV (a la Sega Normad)
Wonder this could be applied to, say, a Genesis Model 1 or 2......
:thinking may have found project I can actually do:

My thoughts exactly; in fact I spent an hour getting my oil changed and thought man if my NEST was done this would have been a breeze to sit through.gumbyx84 wrote:Wow. Just wow. And yes I do plan on adding external video for just that reason.
As an update I got my card slot off my game genie; and yes it will be integrated; trying to setup the slot and get the rf box off now.

Re: NEST build log
Methinks something like this needs to be done with Neo Geo... hmm, I think I have all the parts 'cept for the screen.
Emulation isn't accurate. There is no substitute for real hardware!
