Do you have a technical question that doesn't really fit a specific console? Want some general info on electronics, hacking, making cookies, etc? Here's the place to ask! Go nuts.
Today I found out what a dremel is(Yea I know total noob ), and I was just wondering if I could use this to cut(/melt) a hole in a Portable DVD player.
Or would I need something like this?
(I was just wondering cause it says 'hot cutting')
The first thingy would work, but the second one is about 5 million times more versatile. Although I think the first one can be used as a ghetto soldering iron.
The second one would be the better of the two but even better would be a corded one. The cordless doesn't last very long and it also makes the dremel heavier because of the battery on it.
You could just use a regular drill, ya know. Just make sure the bit is spinning FAST if it's designed for wood, or it may crack the plastic. Just go slow and it will work.
Yea I know, but it looks so cool! And it also doubles up as a soldering iron! =D (Not sure what the other '4' are. [Its 6 in 1. hehe brackets in brackets])
