I almost typed in "what the hamburger cheese sammich is twitter?" ...but then I clicked it....and now, I still don't know what the hamburger cheese sammich twitter is lol. What purpose does it serve? I'm confused

It lets you type a few words to let people know exactly what you are doing. Example:

"hey guyz ima eatin a sandwich lol"

"sup dawg doin homework"

"watch me crank it watch me roll ima supersoakin a ho"

"i m takin a dump now it is huge and green"

I didn't see a point to begin with either, but then I discovered that it's basically just "Facebook" statuses, and I love putting random funny messages on my Facebook status. But with Twitter, I can do it anywhere with a simple SMS to 21212.
