Yes, you can, just like any OS that doesn't make your computer self-destruct. You will, however, lose your settings from Win 7.

Posting from it right now. Everything seems about the same as the beta, but I haven't poked around with it a whole lot yet.

I burned it earlier today but haven't installed it yet. I'm going to wait until after my research paper is handed in this Friday to wipe my hard drive so I don't get screwed out of 300 points.

What's this Windows XP Mode I've been hearing about now? Is it like some sort of advanced Compatibility mode?

It is a virtualized copy of XP SP3 running inside of Vista. Your CPU needs to support it, though. AMD is pretty much a sure bet for anything within the last year or so, but Intel is more hit and miss.

I'm pretty damn sure my C2D E8400 will since it supports whatever Intel's silly name for Virtualization is.

EDIT: Looked up my CPU for compatibility and it will be. Yay :)

well dang the dvd I burned was corrupted.

Now I'm going to try and install from a SD card since my new computer's Bios sounds like can boot from there if I read the boot menu right.

Edit: well that didn't work.

You should be able to boot from a DVD just like you can boot from a CD.

The iso has a ".dlm" extension on it. I'm assuming it's for the download manager that M$ used, but shouldn't it have gone away? oh well.

I downloaded with Firefox and it just spat out a regular .iso. Are you sure it finished downloading?
