[Help me to Finish my Snep] Need some help!!

Post by Hedge »

Dear Friends.
I am the co-webmaster of the best French Website about the Super Nes (http://www.snes-fr.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).
I am also completely crazy about this console...

Then, one day i came here and i bought this one from c_mon : http://img184.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... 181ot4.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Ok, it was a funny one but not really the one i wanted.

So i gave this Snes P to a French customizer (Kotomi), then he changed my Snes P into this one :

http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/se ... videogames" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Then here are my questions :

- First of All he made a new case then...its ok but a lots of things are not ok... worst than before.

- Before i must put 6 LR6 battery to play on it. Now he withdraw this system to play directly with a plugged battery..... I hate this because i cant play outside. In the video you can see it works well, but i am also unable to make it work!! I bought a 1200 mA 3 to 12 V battery to play on it but it doesn't work.. i don't know why..

- What i Want on this SNEP :
* A LITIUM BATTERY than i can reload and play with it outside like 6 hours.
* A SECOND PORT player to play with my friends too
* A Jack OUT to put hearphones when i want to ( normaly there is one but he withdraw it!!)
* Make this console works!!!

Please if someone can hear me, who can handle this for me???.. Please just help me... I used so much money to this one and not being to use it, gonna make me crazy.

thanks for all.
Really need your help men!

Can you open it up and post some internal pics? If we can see what's in there, we can better advise you about adding the things you want.
This post brought to you by David Duchovny's glorious nipples.

We saw that SNES video about a year or so as I recall. Looks quite neat, but only uses a flat top, so not massively interesting, and also fairly large. i remember it.

The PSone screen takes about 800mA to run and the SNES takes a bit too - 1200mA cells you mention will not run the system; you need more than that. If you put a 3-12v battery on as you say, again not good, you can power both systems on around 7.2v happily; if you went over about 8.5v you may have killed the screen; under 7v and the screen won't work anyway.

What you need to do is this (assuming you haven't fried the system): 1) get some decent 7.2v or 7.4v Li-ions or Li-po (with protection circuits) and suitable charger - you won't get enough for 6 hours you mention without heavy batteries, but go for about 4000mA or 6000mA, should last about 3-4 hours max between charges. 2) make your own case to fit the extra thickness of the system. Konami ran his off a power plug, which means no batteries present, which means slimmer system but not a portable - you need to make the case big enough to fit all that should be present (ie batteries, etc).

Second port - portables are really one player as one person will be jiggling the screen about and hogging it; although you can put in a 2nd controller port into your new case and use that if you like.

headphones jack - quite easy, pics on this site to do it (or on my site, see my sig). Also, I have a downloadable .pdf on my site that might help you with the SNES, or be more familiar with it. I suspect the motherboard in your system is the PAL Snes as although c_mon is from Turkey (if memory serves me right) your system is SECAM/PAL so guess your system is PAL, PAL SNES baords are the larger ones (like my boards). Also on my site is how to make a vacuum formed case; it is so much better for you to know how to make a portable, then you may know how to fix yours cheaply or custom make yours - otherwise you end up having to commission someone like me to help you, which is far more expensive, and if anything goes wrong in the future, you are back to commissioning someone's time again...

"make this console works" - depends why it doesn't work now. Could be a number of factors, could be loose wires, could be dead.

Depends. Did this portable work at one time? How much are you willing to pay for the repairs/additions? Don't forget shipping can be quite a lot with these things.

I'd probably like to repair it for you.

The video was informative, thanks. The way you picked it up, it looks light. Is it heavy at all?

I can put all the things you want in it, should be fairly easy, too. Don't try the plugs anymore, we want to make sure nothing is fried.

Do you know if it is PAL or NTSC? If PAL, you'll have to send a game for testing. I will send it back, though.

Where is the original video?

I'd be more than happy to get it working for you. :mrgreen:

In the video he said he tried all the plugs, sounds like he got one in as he said he tried all the voltages on the power supply unit. On the PSU, it was 3v, 6v, 9v and 12v if you notice - 3v - not work, 6v - not work, 9v - fry screen, 12v - fry screen.

Dear Friends.
Thanks for helping me!!!

First of all i am sure this is a NTSC Super Nintendo. YOu can play with US or JAPANESE game it will works!

I Tried all the voltage and nothing happened, i tried all the "adaptators" and all the jack but nothing work.

I think the jack i used is not fit to supply the Super Nintendo Portable because there is like a space between the jack and the console.

Need more infomations?

Mario i have sent you a MP.
