I always hated geometry class, but it's on the state's standardized tests, so I had to take it.

Geometry was such an easy class, I loved it. Me and the other smart kid in a class with a few others from out grade who sucked in math, and a bunch of upper-grade people who all failed in math. Me and the other smart one slacked off every period, payed meager attention, and mainly did the previous nights homework, and tehn got high 90s on the tests, I remember on one test, i got a 96 or somethign, and everyone else did so F-ing horrible, that the teacher gave a 40 point extra credit quiz, I got like a 38 on that, which totalled a 130-somthing test grade. I got out with an A+, while the rest of the kids got Cs, Ds, and Fs.

Print it and measure.

I'm great in math(I got the top mark in an 11 honours class(I'm in grade 10)), but we don't do any of that crap anymore.

nos_slived: Solder masks have everything to do with it. That place that has the boards for $2.50 per square inch have solder masks on their boards, which really help with soldering on tight designs, since solder won't travel across connections unless you aren't too hot at soldering. They're something you can't make with a homemade etching setup, and the x-factor of why people are willing to pay to have boards made.

Besides, for someone who only makes 1 or 2 boards in their lifetime, this is a better deal than finding a tub, etchant, copper clad boards, etch resist, etc.

It's not that I had a hard time with geometry, as a matter of fact I aced it. I just think it's tedious and boring (but what isn't in high school?)

The boards that I make all work great, and it is impossible to bridge connections unless you actually try, trust me, I tried, and I still had problems. The solder just stays on the copper and your component.

As for the supplies, most schools have all that stuff, so if you know the Tech Ed teachers, you're set.

Still, solder masks make it that much harder. And seeing as some of us are not in school anymore, "go to school and swipe some" isn't an option :P
