You can't get HDMI from an xBox, the best you can get is VGA. If you'd like to go with VGA you have to have special BIOS for it, I haven't dived too deep into it yet though, I'm not sure if you can do with a TSOP flash either. I'm thinking of doing it on my xBox but not sure of where to find the BIOS for a Xenium chip.

And on your softmod, in all honesty I'd highly recommend getting a modchip, they're around $45 and they don't screw with your HDD at all (aside from any apps/games you add) so you can go back to stock very easily. Plus IIRC you can set it so you don't have to have a DVD drive connected, and if you run a 120GB HDD or larger you really won't need one anyways, you can just FTP everything you want to the drive.

You can't get HDMI, but you can get VGA with a modded BIOS (any good modchip does it). Stock, Component is your best choice. The XBOX will go up to 720p on some games IIRC. Not bad for a 6th gen console.

Okay, is that screen HD? Also, does it have component video inputs? If the answer to both is yes, then component is probably your best choice!

Judging by the picture, it looks to be 4:3 so it's not HD, I believe he said it does do Component so he can use that.

I recommend you ditch the XBOX power supply. Something small like a PicoPSU will save you A LOT of space and allow you to easily connect batteries.

The pico would weigh a lot less than the original PSU, even if space isn't a concern.

Only problem with a picoPSU is that IIRC the xBox doesn't use a standard ATX plug for the PSU, I know for fact that my v1.0 doesn't but I can't remember on other ones. And you may run into an issue where the voltages don't match up, I mean this isn't a straight-up PC motherboard in there. Other than those, doubling the wattage of the xBox PSU would be a blessing.

EDIT: Only the 1.0 and 1.1 have an AT connector, 1.2 through 1.6 have an ATX connector, as stated here:

EDIT 2: Read through this thread, there's some very good facts about how an xBox uses its power:

I haven't read all the thread, but why are you keeping the DVD drive? You could cut the total size down greatly without it. Unless your screen requires that much room, then you might as well keep it.
