Zn-45

Post by Stoweboarder »

gahhhh....damn you shockslayer....damn youuuuu
jk, i understand

anyway, idk if this is meant for case or N64 forums, so i assume N64

ok, so i failed at making a vac form case, but i may not give up (i kinda screw up the mold and i think the plastic i was using was to thick, even though thats the kind i need) <- dont worry about this

but i was thinking about alternative cases, and i remembered the Zn series were good for putting an N64 in
look up Zn-45 case on google

but i would need to make my screen and N64 smaller in order for everything to fit, so i had a few questions on how shockslayer packed his N64's into the Zn case

first...did he relocate the expansion port so that it was flat?

second...my heatsinks on the chips are alittle taller than i would like but i have to make due, this is a question-> were the heat sinks on shockslayers chips fairly small?

third...what did he cut on the N64 board and psone screen board to make it smaller?
I did the LED mod and i cut off the top of the board (except i left the 100 16v cap? on the top of the board cause i wasnt sure if that had to do with something else)<-dont worry about this
but anyway, do i need to trim the N64 board to make it fit into the ZN case?

fourth...did he bondo an N64 controller to fit the buttons on?

my main questions was just the expansion port, because the way i have it, it gets in the way of the screen and thus wont fit in the case based on the dimensions.

search for shockslayers vid on youtube of his N64p's, if you wanna see what im talking about

Thanks for the Help

an n64, psone screen should fit in a zn 45 pretty easy, just dont waste any space.

TL:DR(first time I ever said that)

An n64 will fit without any cutting, the PSone screen will need the led mod. Heatsinks were thin, about 2 mm taller than the chips themselves.

my main questions was just the expansion port, because the way i have it, it gets in the way of the screen and thus wont fit in the case based on the dimensions.
The expansion port should just be removed - nothing uses it, and it comes off pretty easily.

Edit: you ARE referring to the expansion port on the bottom of the N64 right? Not the jumper pak/expansion pak...
