Gamecube controller non working Z-trigger

Post by burnout »

Hello !

Hope im posting in the right part of the forum. :D

Okay here's my problem:

I have found out that my Wireless Wavebird Gamecube controller has a non working/malfunctioning Z-trigger button.
The symptoms are the following: While using the control on gamecube games if you press down the Z-trigger nothing happens and if you use it on Wii (only tested on Super Smash Bros Brawl) the Z-trigger was always recognized pushed down while not pressed down.

So my question is that has anyone encountered this problem or do know a way to fix this ?

If you know a way to solve it please respond.

Thanks in Advance !

Sounds like the carbon mesh is jammed or something. Can you open it up?

Either that or the tact switch is busted...
Is the button stuck inward, or what?

try replaceing the tact switch open it up, mite have some gunk in it. what you should do is desolder the wires to the switch and buy a new tact switch @ radio shack™ or wall-mart™ and take it to ur wireless controller and solder it to where the wires met the original switch, put it back together. button may be less respnsive. if switch is intregrated onto a board sinply take it off with desoldering and replace as i said above. Hope i helped!
