Re: Pet Peeves!
I hate how people blindly say PC gaming sucks. Especially since most of those people never played any PC games.

Re: Pet Peeves!
I simply do not buy PC games because i would need a better computer. I do enjoy pc games from the 90s. Mostly I play ones that were ported from game systms like Sonic 3d blast (yes, I actually like that game. no wait...LOVE that game.)
rest in peace, Ronnie James Dio! \m/

Hangovers.

Re: Pet Peeves!
I hate it when people intentionally stack teams in online games.
And when 3 million squeaky-voiced kids who shouldn't even OWN the game join the server and start asking questions like "how do I sniper?" (while playing soldier) and "wheres the spawn?" (while standing in it after being killed by a medic) and " OOMG U HAXX0R NUB!" (after they run in front of a pyro for the 30th time in a row).

YES! Little kids playing video games are annoying. As a 13 year old, many of my friends, although not particularly little, are immature, and one day I heard stories about them playing Halo 3 while flaming random people and calling them "fat jew losers". Who does that? Jews have never done anything to them -.-

Re: Pet Peeves!
You DO realize you still technically fit in the category of "Should not even own the game"?

Excellent
Re: Pet Peeves!
Ratings are so arbitrary they don't even mean anything anymore. Like how could Halo, with only blood and gore (not a lot either, HL2 has way more) be in the same catagory as GTA4, which has all sorts of nasty stuff. Also, how could Sims 2 get a T rating? Becuase of WooHoo I guess, but you can't even give them guns.
I could rant on and on about ratings. Most cashiers, etc just disregard age limits. Especially small stores. Because the person is probably the owner, and he/she loses a potential sale. It begs the question why they do it in the first place. Look, if I want that game enough I'm going to get it anyway, whether I beg my parents, pay a boot, or bribe the cashier. Wow, I've ranted a lot. And I even forgot what I was going to post. I fail.

Re: Pet Peeves!
The problem is that if the industry cannot regulate itself, government will step in and do it for us (Australia, anyone?). Just because it is the fault of the parents will not protect the industry from the ever-encroaching purview of the government.
This is unquestionably the most important issue facing the industry.
I think it really does come down to parental responsibility. Parents need to be involved in what their kids are playing, especially considering that some kids can handle some games at different ages. I would argue some games (and movies) that are rated for older audiences can be experienced by some kids, specifically those that portray historically significant moments. It needs to be done in an accurate matter though (Saving Private Ryan and the Patriot, yes; Wolfenstein, no).
And don't think that the First Amendment 'Freedom of Speech' argument will work - it hasn't always worked here or in other countries. Take Germany for example: their speech rights are so lenient that Uwe Boll makes money on movies that lose money because of government subsidies, yet their gaming industry is the most-regulated in all of Europe. In the United States, movies were tightly regulated for decades and are only beginning to loosen up.

Re: Pet Peeves!
Toby: I agree and disagree. I really hate people with annoying text rings who text a lot, especially during lectures, movies, or the like. However, sometimes texting while right beside someone is useful to discreetly tell them something that you don't want everyone else around you to know. Texting is one of those "if used responsibly" things. As in 12 year olds don't need cell phones.
However, when you're on campus trying to find someone, without an established meeting place, it's really hard to find the people you're looking for. It's great for co-coordinating events on party nights, and stuff like that.
I do agree it's not for conversations.

To this day, i've never been able to say isn't it, always comes out as "innit", same as "bruvva" as well, just like my mum pronounces pendulum as "pendolum" and certificate as "ststificate"Kazaryster wrote:i absolutely hate when people can't say the simplest things right for example my biology teacher say "Pitcher" instead of "picture" and "penits" instead of "peanuts"
@Kurt: If texting isn't for class, how else am I supposed to talk to someone in college when there is no computers available, and I don't want to ring? texting is one of the best forms of communication imo, if a little expensive.
