Not even close. Just go with the 1W 1K oh, resistor.

I can NOT find it and i live in Norway. RadioShack will not ship to Norway.

Well the resistor you had is not even one tenth of the resistance you would need. And you have to have 1W.

Try mouser.com, I love that website.

If that doesn't work then you'll have to get one from ebay.

There is a much better battery light indicator found here:

You can use either one, just read the pros and cons for both.
