5.1 headphone/headset combo for 360?

has any1 ever tried to put together a 5.1 headphone/headset combo that runs off of microsofts bluetooth channel? im pretty sure turtle beach is the only company that does 5.1 headphone/headset combos for 360 but they r infarred(IR) and ($200)and still have to be plugged into the controller for chat, the other downside of using IR is when u r using ur HDMI cable u have to use ur comp cables as well just for the headphone audio or just use only comp cables for A/V and do away with ur HDMI. ive never messed around with bluetooth channels other then sync and play so i dont know how hard it would be to make an all in one bluetooth 5.1 headphone/headset but i was just wondering if anyone has ever attempted this.

i doubt if anyone has ever tried. it doesn't make sense, really, seeing as how 360 voice chat quality sucks, having a better headset would be worthless.

Turtle beach would be your best bet. Also, the Xbox 360 doesn't use bluetooth. It just uses IR so I would just go with a turtle beach set.

ya, i have a turtle beach x2, which is not surround sound. i broke part of the jack on the cable that plugs into the headset but i soldered a jack from 1 of my wired 360 headsets to the cable and fixed it today. the 360 does indeed use bluetooth for the MS wireless headset and Wireless controllers. if it were IR then the wireless accessories wouldnt work when out of direct line of site with the xbox.
what i was talking about doing is buying 5.1 wireless IR headphones that went through my surround sound receiver and build in the MS bluetooth wireless headset with a better extended mic on it. this would make it completely wireless unlike the turtle beach sets that plug into the controller in order to use the mic.
the MS wireless is already using the bluetooth so it seems like u would only have to mount it and connect the audio to go through the headphone speakers instead of using the MS headset speaker. u could also try to power the mic through the headphone power supply but would mean more work
from what i here the wireless headsets are a pain to mess around with but that was someone who was changing the LEDs which would be a b***h to deal with on something small like that.
im still wondering if anyone has tried this, if not i might go ahead and try to make the first completely wireless 5.1 headphone/headset whenever i have some extra cash lying around

no, the 360 doesnt use bluetooth. it uses low ghz wireless, but it isnt bluetooth.

and i really dont see why you want to hear immature little kids slandering everybody in surround sound.

wow, sorry i didnt check my sources, ur right 360 uses 2.4 not bluetooth. its amazing how many websites advertise the MS wireless accessories as bluetooth. they should give me free crap cuz they lied to me the customer. but it still doesnt change how i plan to make this headset, the 5.1 is not for listening to little kids cuz if i can hear them thats what the mute feature is for, 5.1 helps out a lot in any FPS, its almost like having a second radar for close quarters.
