Yeah, I think most metal bands could play death metal if they wanted to, but they don't because...it sucks.weaponepsilon wrote:

I love metal, but there are those doom core bands that make me want to tear my ears off. Dude. I can speak that low. I can drone a guitar that low. I can play bass that that fast. I dont care, its all the same.

Deathcore can be brilliant at times, and no offence but Pantera are truly shockingly bad, from the cliches (Cowboys From Hell...), to amazingly badly written repetitive songs, definitely ranking themselves as one of the worst popular metal bands, above Metallica.
I use a PC to spin/produce dnb, dubstep, grime... UK underground stuff.

Technically, piano is percussion. The sound is made by hammers striking the strings, so that strike is enough to classify it as a percussive instrument. Kinda dumb, though. The direct ancestors of the piano, the harpsichord, and the organ, are string and wind instruments respectively.

Took me ages to get into it tbh, until someone recommended that I didn't listen to Caspa & Rusko, so I looked at some other stuff on mixtapes and anywhere I could find it on the internet, gotta love Skream imo.Extreme_Jesus wrote:gotta love dubstep, i was bummed cos i missed out on a casper set a while ago. i just love his remix of TC's wheres my moneyNegative_Creep wrote:Deathcore can be brilliant at times, and no offence but Pantera are truly shockingly bad, from the cliches (Cowboys From Hell...), to amazingly badly written repetitive songs, definitely ranking themselves as one of the worst popular metal bands, above Metallica.

Re: Does anybody here make music?
Its not really a massive passion of mine but i do like the odd bit, i prefer proper dub. Ive got a mate who wouldnt shut up about dubstep and kept playing it to me, eventually it kinda grew on me i guessNegative_Creep wrote:Took me ages to get into it tbh, until someone recommended that I didn't listen to Caspa & Rusko, so I looked at some other stuff on mixtapes and anywhere I could find it on the internet, gotta love Skream imo.Extreme_Jesus wrote:gotta love dubstep, i was bummed cos i missed out on a casper set a while ago. i just love his remix of TC's wheres my moneyNegative_Creep wrote:Deathcore can be brilliant at times, and no offence but Pantera are truly shockingly bad, from the cliches (Cowboys From Hell...), to amazingly badly written repetitive songs, definitely ranking themselves as one of the worst popular metal bands, above Metallica.

Domo Arigato, Mister Roboto.
As far as the piano is concerned, saying the sound comes from the hammers is just like saying the sound of a guitar comes from it's pick, of the sound of a violin comes from the bow. The sound is produced by the strings and the inner acoustics of the piano.

Re: Does anybody here make music?
It's not a matter of where the sound comes from, it's a matter of HOW the strings are used. With a guitar or a violin, the strings are plucked directly by hand or rubbed with the bow. With a piano, it's a strike to the string through the hammers. Just like drums, it's not the sticks or mallets that make the noise, it's the vibrating drum head. The sticks just start it, like a piano's hammers.
