ARGH! mine are mostly the huge 33's then the 72's then the 45's if I have my sizes correct, how bou chu?
432 of those are 33's, 23 are 45s, and I've got one 78 that's an old Lone Ranger episode 8)

Most of mine are Classic Rock like the Beatles, Eagles, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Queen, etc. I also have some new stuff like Franz Ferdinand, Ok Go, and The Shins.

I have around 80 LPs and probably 25 45s or so. My collection feels small and insignificant compared to you guys'. The difference, though, is that mine is pretty much all Beatles or Beatles-related. Heck, I think the only non-Beatles record I own is a Beach Boys album, haha.

Oh, yeah, and I also own one of those cylinder records. The curator of what used to be a phonograph museum in Virgina City gave it to me.

most of mine are the beatles, the rolling stones, and a bit of abba. I think there are also a few bee-gees and john denver in my collection too.

My family has a lot of 78s too. most of those are 1940s songs or early rag music.

I have more 78's than 45's. Also mine are pretty much any music you can think of  I don't know how many even work though, because I have no record player :o maybe I'll get a pic up later.

lol records without a player?

The thing I don't like about old records though is that they break too easily.

Oh, and in a few months when I am done funding my projects, I will be collecting ozzy osbourne, Metallica, and Pantera records, so everybody dust yours off and prepare to sell to me!

I just thought of something.

A portable record player.

It would only be able to play 45s or the small 78s because of the size.

Ummm it's already been thought of, I got one on Woot for $50 dollars!

And as far as the Beatles go, I've got everything they have done, except for some of the American equivalents (The British albums are what I prefer). Some cool special items I have are the White Album on white vinyl, an autographed Sgt. Pepper picture disc, and most importantly, a Beatles Butcher Cover! (I'll take some pictures if you guys are interested)

Mods, could you split this vinyl chat into a different topic? Thanks!

Even more portable is the Audio Technica AT-727 Sound Burger!

http://www.crunchgear.com/2007/09/22/so ... rd-player/
http://www.retrothing.com/2005/11/sound_burger_vi.html

It can only handle 8" records, so no LPs here.

I WANT TO SEE

No, seriously, you have a Butcher cover? And an autographed "Sgt. Pepper's" picture disc? Nice! I too have "The White Album" on white vinyl, along with "1962-1966" on red and "1967-1970" on blue. My most valuable item would be my beat-up mono copy of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," which, even in its condition, is still worth $100 or so. I also got an authentic copy of "Introducing The Beatles" from my aunt.

Interestingly, my collection is pretty much exclusively American: the only British LP I own is "A Collection of Beatles Oldies." I also own the "Magical Mystery Tour" EP, plus a Russian version of "A Hard Day's Night."

I'll post a picture of my own personal Butcher cover some time tomorrow, just cause it's so damn cool 8) I got it from my uncle about a year ago, he steamed the replacement "Yesterday and Today" cover off of it, so there's some damage. Either way though, it's still friggin sweet, and it's going to hang on my wall indefinitely.

Btw, when I say "autographed" picture disc, I mean the one that has it engraved or whatever, it's not the real autographs (that would be awesome though!). I believe they're somewhat rarer than the standard picture discs, but not by a whole lot?

It's too bad he steamed the replacement cover off; it would have been worth more since the non-peeled ones are steadily dwindling. Still totally awesome, though; I'd personally totally freak if I ever got my hands on one at a garage sale or something in any state. I'd hang it on my wall indefinitely, too.

As for the picture disc, that's still pretty cool. I've never heard of a "Sgt. Pepper's" one with autographs on it, personally. Or maybe I have and I just don't remember. Do you know what country it came from? I've got a German and an American one and neither of them are like that, at least as far as I can remember.

Man, I need to dig some of this stuff out again sometime...

So today, a friend was helping built the set for our Spring show, and she said she turned off my Shuffle while I was gone, and then brought up the new ones, which I said sucked but she said was awesome, which caused her to say "It's better than anything Microsoft has ever made" (keep that line in memory for a moment).

Conversation goes on, I say that gaming sucks on a Mac 'cause there's like no games for it, so she calls her boyfriend (on an iPhone, of course, which I pissed her off by calling it an "iPod touch with built-in phone capabilities") This is the conversation:

Her (into phone): You game, right? On a Mac, right?
Me: Does he run Windows in Bootcamp, etc?
Her: Do you run bootcamp? No, he doesn't
Me: What does he play?
Her: (asks) Diablo 2, Starcraft, WoW. Thanks hun (hangs up)
Me: Those are all Blizzard games, they're the only company that makes them work on Macs
Her: Those are the only good games (totally untrue, but whatever)
Me: Well, you can't play Half-Life on a Mac so it doesn't matter
Her: He doesn't need to, he has it on his xBox (360)
Me: ??????????

I didn't say that Microsoft makes the xBox, so her statement above is contradictory, and I didn't bring up the failed Apple console, but whatever.
