Am I going to die?

Post by xXxBlender3DxXx »

I've heard many good things about making a PSP Pandora's Battery, but I've heard that it could explode if I touch the wrong prongs together. If that's the case, can I completely drain the battery so that it WON'T kill me (or is there a safe way to install a switch on the battery)?

I really don't want to die for my PSP (literally)!

just buy a ready made pandora and call it a day, don't listen to what people say, its way too much of a hassle to make one if you've never done it before and you aren't comfortable around sensitive electronics.

I very much doubt messing up a battery mod will kill you. It'll injure you for sure, but not kill you -- a nasty burn would probably be the extent of it.

Personally, I decided to just buy a pre-made Pandora. It's the simplest method since I don't know anyone with a CFW'd PSP I can softmod my battery with and don't want to risk screwing up my only Sony battery by hardmodding it.

Lucky me, When I was opening mine to mod it, My screwdriver slipped and went right in, punctured something and smoke started coming out, Nothing happened besides killing my battery.

Whew! Thanks guys!

Now I'm going to softmod my battery and install a switch so that I can switch back and forth between normal and pandora mode.

Thanks!

I desoldered the Li-Ion cells off the board, lift the pin, then solder it back on.

I've made a handful of Pandora batteries.

I just pull them apart with my fingernails, snip the pin with some diagonal cutters, and snap the thing back together.
If it doesn't wanna hold on its own, I'll use a dab of superglue along the edge.

I have yet to damage a single one, or create problems.

So long as you're not screwing around or RUSHING, you'll be fine.

when you put it in does the green led flicker? Without you trying to turn it on, because if it does, then you made it right.

I told you to buy a ready made one, crap, they're $7 for the cheapest one, but did you listen? no. Enjoy paying $30+ for another battery.

Can't I just connect the 5th pin's prongs together to make it a normal battery, if I buy a TOOL battery?

But they don't last long before they lose the charge. I guess you could put more li ion (or whatever they use) cells in there that have a higher mah rating.

Are Li-Ion cells expensive? I think that I can just salvage my old cell; only the circuits were broken (supposedly).
