TI 82 mp3 calculator almost complete

Post by doctorjames »

Well I finally found a cheap mp3 player to put in my calculator.

It was a Samsung Pebble which was actually pretty cool because all of the adjustment buttons are mounted to the face, and everything (USB, charging, and of course audio out) is done through the headphone jack.

I still need to epoxy the cover on and maybe paint it, but other than that it is done. :)

Anyone have any suggestions before I make it permanent?

Put the batteries inside and use the calculator's buttons for the MP3 player.

Ya the calculator still works perfectly. :D

I wanted to put the batteries on the inside initially however its impossible to have AAs and the mp3 player in there without adding like half an inch to the case thickness. :?

I could fit a Li-ion in there, but I would have to find some cash to do that. I would have to build a charging circuit for it as well, and the Li-ion probably won't last as long as AAs would. :? It would be nice though. I should probably start looking for a battery that would work.

Having the mp3 controls on the back is 1337 because I can hold the calculator like normal and calculate and change songs/volume or whatever at the same time. :D So I think I'll leave the controls back there.

Thanks for the suggestions guys!! :)

Lol, nice.

I would have never thought of that (well, maybe if I sat in a dark room for like a month).

I would have made a PSP that sends IR viruses to LEGO RCX's and overwrites their old programs (all of this being dona at a LEGO robotics competition).

Hahaha thanks!

Ya I remember those Lego robot units. We had those at our school like in the eighth grade. Those things were awesome! :D

Lol, good times... good times...

I still have my Lego robotics set. I haven't thought of selling it yet, but I might.
