What non-project 42 portable should I build next?
Hi there peoples! Since I actually read the forums now, I've noticed people are wondering if I'll ever make some more advanced portables.
I'm working on a couple PSOne portables and then a couple Atari 2600s to finish "Project 42". During that time I'd probably have time to squeeze one other portables, possibly in September.
But which? Choose from the list below and tell me what you think. I can't guarantee I'll do it, but I'll take it as a strong suggestion.
PS: I have a strong suspicion which will win. If it's what I think it'll be, I may need some advice from people who've worked with it more than I.

The problem with a ps2 is relocating the dvd drive, so I'm thinking that a gamecube would be easier with the fact that all the boards are seperate.
And also, the problem with all these new system is heat! I was playing my gamecube for 2 hours yesterday and it was already extremely hot, and that's with the fan!

I would like to see an N64 or Gamecube. I voted for N64 because that would be such a cool looking system if ben made it. The Gamecube would be really cool to just kind of bulky. The dreamcast would be cool to and pretty small. PS2 would be pretty hard and big. So I got to go with N64 or maybe dreamcast.
Dreamcast !
What other system would you have the ability to play emulators, NetBSD, linux, VCDs, and MP3s. Its the Holy Grail for crying out loud!

Yeah but the Xbox is really a PC and Ben's already made a portable PC, and he doesnt have the Xbox as an option. The Dreamcast according to ebgames.com is a classic and a 128 bit system how can you argue with that?Link89 wrote:The xbox does that and more.

If you need some advice about the Dreamcast, I'll be happy to give it.benheckc wrote:PS: I have a strong suspicion which will win. If it's what I think it'll be, I may need some advice from people who've worked with it more than I.
I know the ins-and-outs of that system better than the back of my hand.
