i was wondering if i can power my nes off a 9 v rechargable battery which also says 8.4 v

its a nickel cadmium battery is it safe to use this???

It runs right into a 7805 I believe, so anywhere from about 7 to 12 volts is fine.

The NES specifically runs off 5 volts, which is what the 7805 outputs. However, if you use the 7805 itself, you can input anything from 7 up to 35 volts (not reccomended). If you want to input anything below 7, you can also get a Low Drop-Out (LDO) chip from stores like Mouser. Personally, I'd suggest you try getting a 7805 substitute, the 7805 is old technology and you might have better luck with never voltage transformers.

yeah, voltage regulators are inefficient, but they even have a few in the ps2. It would probably be better to replace it with a dc-dc converter, but that's a little more expensive.

can anyone suggest a place where i can get a mini tv for cheap i live in canada??? also i can get a cat tv around 3 inches big for 60 buck are these good??? do they need a lot to power them??

Ebay would be the first suggestion I'd make. Second is if you can get your hands on the Hip Gear screens (for Xbox, PS2 and GCN) you can tar the screen out.

Or you can get a GBA SP adapter that will allow you to play all of your Nintendo games on it for $40 (you still need to get a Famicom to NES adapter)
