Would that be on the actual original capacitor? If it is, I can provide it but if not, I'm not sure....

It depends on the capacitor, some have it, some do not. What does it say on the 360 capacitor?

If nothing, you may need a capacitance tester to find out.

Bump, sorry but does anyone know what I need to get? I've been holding off on this project for over two weeks since I don't have them, and I'm getting side tracked with other things that may post pone this thing forever.

I think a picture or two might help us identify something useful.

I can't help but think you should have worked on a simpler project first. You don't want to be figuring out how to desolder on something as complex as a 360 board.

As far as the solder on the holes - if it is just extra solder that was already in there and you couldn't get it out, that's ok. You can leave it there. It may even be a plus to have solder already in place for resoldering a component.

For the caps - You really should just solder some wire to the ends and extend them. If there are some that are damaged take the values that you posted and find some new ones on digikey.com or ebay or go to that electronics store you mentioned. A single cap isn't usually more than a dollar.

Also, be careful. I'd hate to see you waste your money because you messed up the board.

I know, I didn't do the best job of desoldering the caps so some of them got broken, would 30awg wire work to extend them? I'll still need to buy about 5-8 though, but I cannot find any with the same specs.

I can't find my usb cable for the Digicam, so now pics for now, sorry. I'll try and find pics of them on the net from a xbox 360 board.

Alright I'll do that for now, but I still have the problem of the other missing caps. If no one knows where I can get these, and I can't seem to find them myself, maybe someone has extras desoldered from their motherboard that they would sell for cheap?

Wooo! Found some that will work! :D

Those should work perfectly, unless they are timing capacitors. I highly, highly doubt that, though; They would have used SMT for timing. ;)

So, buy those and you should be all set!

Here is a pic of them, can't see much but they are the ones all around the heatsinks. If a better pic is needed, I will try and find one.

Palmertech, so those would replace these? The size of them looks slightly different though. These are the tallest capacitors on the motherboard.

BTW: not my image, but I don't think anyone would get mad for using it as a reference.

Sorry for bumping once again, but would the ones you posted from ebay work, or will something else do better? I don't even know if that seller will ship to me, but I'll have to try and see before its done in about another day.

Look on newark.com; they have a huge selection, but if you buy any capacitors, you have to pay $20 (flat fee) to have them shipped from the UK.

Woops, missed this thread again.

Yes, those capacitors will work. Those are just power filtering caps, if anything, the extra capacity will help them do a better job. :D
