Weird Problem

Well I'm on my final stages of the xbox 360 laptop I'm trying to make and... it keeps opening and closing the dvd drive. It flashes the center green light and when the dvd drive is plugged in, it opens, then closes then restarts that process over and over. Even with out the drive plugged in, it still flashes the middle green light. Does any one know how this might haappen or a way to fix it. It did notice that the 12 port thing for dvd drive it missing a prong but its one that plugs into the non wire holes (since there is 10 wires but 12 pins). I don't know Do you think I might need a new motherboard? I have taken apart the drive 3 times now to makes sure i cleaned the gears and tray thoroughly and the lens.

It wants a better game put in. Obviously the games you have put into it, are finally being rejected by the console. Its saying "Oh god, please don't put that in here. Blahhh"

With no drive connected the flashing green light is normal.

If you're using a power cable that you made up, extended or modified in some way make sure ya have the wiring of it correct.

Well I just got a new dvd power cable for free (unexpected). But, its not the wiring. I plugged in the new one and nothing. The dvd drive can open and close when i press the eject button but it keeps opening when i close it with the green light flashes. Well I'm getting a new drive but hopefully the circuit board in the drive isn't bad. If it is, i'll need a new xbox. I would flash the new one, but then xbox live would eventually ban me. If any one has any answers to this problem please tell me
