I hate the fact that I can't be myself because everybody in my school thinks I'm someone else, so I can't be myself, and If I were myself everybody would realize that I'm not being myself then I wouldn't be respected anymore :o

I'll rant on:

Insane Profits:
Corportations want insane profits so their executives get bonuses. By moving manufacturing overseas, they can cut costs. So they do. Cut features, quality control, customer service, anything. And charge insane amounts.

That's the meat of my rant- insane prices. Sixty bucks for ONE GAME?! INSANE! There's a REASON Steam has so many users. If the XBOX 360 pro was $200 or even $250 I may have bought one. As it stands, forget about it.

Lockouts and Proprietory... um... stuff:
Lockout will kill consoles someday. Can you play a Japanese game on your US console? No. Case in point: I would be about 50% more likely to buy a 360 if I could hack a normal SATA drive into a 360. But you can't thanks to some stupid chip. Also look at all the third party vendors being shut out. It's time to open up your systems.

Video Game Corporate Policies:
Congratulations on buying your Wii. If you plug in anything that doesn't say nintendo on it, you're a f---head. That's what they may as well say. It's the same with all three big players. You buy our stuff. We're only giving out 3 third party licenses. And we're going to charge a ripoff for it too. See the two topics above.

Anti-PC Gaming:
I hate in when idiots dis the PC as a gaming platform. The graphics suck, the multiplayer sucks, the interface sucks, everything sucks. Let me list the advantages.

First off, it's cheaper. A decent gaming PC can be had for about $800. Games are way cheap too. But most importantly they come with decent monitors. Consoles don't.
Argubly better interface, better for shooters, strategy, and simulation. Sucky for platformers. But you can always plug in a gamepad.
FLEXIBILITY! You can use any input device you want. You can customize the guts of your PC to your heart's content. You can do a lot of modding with little risk. The PC is an open platform. Anyone (even you) can make peripherals, games, and other things as well. The same cannot be said with consoles. I cannot say with words how awesome an open platform is! Mods are AWESOME! There are some homemade games that are good, and also looks at the wide variety of PC compatible devices. Independent game developers are commonplace. WIth a console you need special development tools, and you need approval from Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo.

I'm not saying consoles suck, I'm saying stop saying PCs suck.

Someone slap me.

Recorded it earlier today, as a warm up. Not the best quality but it's nice and calming. And it's video game music. Enjoy!

I hate parents that lack parenting skills. Just swat the kid's butt a few times, and they'll turn out alright.
I hate politicians. They're a bunch of idiots. Like the DTV switch, why did one of them figure out that you could just say "ok guys, the expired coupons are good til June now" instead of issuing new ones.
I hate forgetting things. I was driving a couple hours ago, and I thought of something I hate and that I should post it here, but then I forgot what it was. It must have been something related to driving, cars, or music (listening to radio).

I hate it when familiar products change without warning.

On some days, I feel the need to eat a "Mr. King" packaged ice cream cone on the way to work. I buy my familiar cone, and begin to eat, layer by layer of somewhat mediocre, but addictive ice cream. Delicious nuts, golden carmel, and a delicious waffle cone holding it all together.

Now, as you may know, at the bottom of these cones is a chunk of chocolate, used to keep the theoretical drippings from the melted ice cream from leaking out the bottom of the cone (As if you could wait that long!) As I reach the bottom, I notice something... A lightness in the cone, the likes of which I have never experienced! As I finish the ice cream, I see the culprit: THE CHOCOLATE IS NOT THERE! It has instead been replaced by AIR! I understand the economy is bad, and that companies are looking for ways to cut costs on novelty ice creams, but this is unacceptable. That is my favorite part! Rage flowed through my veins, threatening to take over my reason and control of will, forcing me to stop my bike and cry to the heavens of my plight, wishing for some kind of redemption! But alas, the chocolate has mercilessly left me, without so much as a goodbye...

Yeah, good luck getting ME to buy your ice cream again!

Goodness, I haven't tasted a drumstick in two years!

I feel you Palmertech, I got pissed when I used to go to an amusement park and return a few years later and find the good things gone. :(

Not really... It's been $50-60 per game ever since the beginning. If you consider the lower production costs of ten to fifteen years ago to the often multi-million dollar production costs of today, the prices are really pretty reasonable. My Dad's always complaining about how a video game costs $60 but you can buy a movie for $20. Well, the main difference is that movies have theatrical releases, which is where they make a lot of their money; retail sales are secondary. Games have no such release prior to hitting store shelves, and typically, over time, the cost of a given game drops, not to mention games last way longer than any movie.

Also, how, exactly, is a keyboard and mouse a superior control scheme to a dual-analog gamepad? Sure the aiming's more accurate, but movement isn't, not by a long shot. If you press "W," you flat-out run; let go, you stop dead. With analog sticks, you can tiptoe, walk, or run, all at your convenience; I can't imagine playing a Medic with a keyboard and mouse because it'd be much tougher to keep pace with whoever I'm healing, meaning I have to consciously think about pressing and letting go of the key to keep up or slow down, whereas with an analog stick, I can just tilt it a little further or hold it back a little more. With gamepads, you also have the advantage of having every button easy to access; with a keyboard, I'm always hitting the wrong keys because I can't quite reach the right one without having to move from my WASD positioning. Then there's the comfort factor; with a gamepad, I can kick back in my comfy chair and get comfortable, whereas with a keyboard/mouse, I have to sit just right in order to play properly. Having played a lot of "Half-Life" on my PC and "Half-Life 2" on my PS3, the PS3 controls win completely for all of the reasons above.

When I still had a current-ish system, I'd always wait until a game was $20 or less, new or used. Now I can walk into Gamestop and every Xbox game is under $20.

I got a laptop for $399, and it won't run games properly even at 640x480. I get a PS3 for $399 and I could go HD if I get a bit more money for a monitor. Not that PC gaming sucks, but it's expensive. :? $800 then additional costs for upgrading isn't nice at least for me.

You can press a button to speed up or slow down with the keyboard.

But isn't it easier to push lightly to walk, then push all the way to run? (On an analog stick)

Yeah, $800 isn't cheap by any means, especially considering you have to upgrade stuff yearly if you want to play the most recent games.

That's another part of PC gaming I don't get: Instead of just working with a standard, PC developers make games on their monster PCs and then expect people to upgrade to play it, whereas with consoles, they've got a set piece of hardware to program for, and as time goes on, they get better and better at developing for it, and as a result, games get better and better.

I can't stand how I can't just buy a game and put it in my PC knowing it'll run like I can with my PS3; I have to check the system specs on the box, compare them to my computer, and it most likely won't run. How is that better?

Remember how I mentioned I often hit the wrong keys on a keyboard? Probably the same story here.

I hate when parents give in to these kids demands of getting that rated M game. I'm talking 10 or younger. SO these kids go and beg their parents for these games and then they buy it for the kids and then the parents walk in on these kids playing it and SUE the company cause' its the games fault for being violent when it clearly says it on the back and not the parents for not reading the DAMN ESRB. So these companies murder these parents in court and then the company gets bad press in the long run. So the moral of this rant is: If you buy a rated M game for your kid then its your fault for the values they learn from it not the companies, so if you don't approve gang violence don't buy GTA, you don't like war violence don't buy COD for your kid

Just needed to get that off my chest
I haven't been here in awhile, and looking back it's one of the worst ideas I ever had. I'm back and I'll be here for awhile, I was quite active 1 year ago and I hope to become that again.

I think that falls under the "parents without parenting skills" category.

I'm glad my parents are fine with me buying "M"-rated games; I only have a few, mind you, but I'm glad they're not cuckoo about it.
