Tiny dreamcast/Computer in a DC case

Post by palmertech »

I made this to show an idea to someone in a few minutes, and I had to share it.

It could be a mini Dreamcast, a nano-itx computer in a case like that, a bad MSpaint.... Which one is it/should it be?

I figure as long as I posted this, may as well post this:

Tell me what it should be (Obviously an MP3 player is an ok idea, any others?)

I wonder if this would make a good forum game... Make a pic of something, ask what it should be. May make for some fun, off-beat projects,

EDIT: Added a normal sized GB Pocket for comparison.

It's a smart phone!

Or something.

Also, I like that idea. I've got some things I could enter.

On that note, are you just using MS Paint? You should totally check out GIMP if you are. It's a lot better for a lot of things.

I am using MSpaint. I have a bit of experience with gimp, but it is harder for me to wrap my head around. Any good tutorials you suggest?

Also, I edited my post to show a normal sized gameboy pocket. :D

With GIMP, I pretty much just taught myself. Once you know basically what each function does, you can mix and match effects to create some interesting stuff. I'm not a pro, by any means, though; I'm still pretty much a noob. But I'm learning.

If you like, I can clean up those pictures for you, at least.

If you really want to, sure; I would rather wait to use your services for when I have something a bit nicer. But if you have nothing better to do, have at them! :D

It's no trouble, I honestly don't have anything else to do.

Here's the smart phone/whatever:

As for the Mini-Dreamcast, it wasn't too bad aside from compression artifacts, and those are currently beyond my skill to fix.

If you do want anything else done, just let me know.

Awesome mini-dreamcast!

You'd need some serious Bondo skillz to pull that off. Triton, get in here! :)

It'd be nice if you could pull that thing off in real life.

The game boy idea would be awesome! I totally want to put a HTC wizard with a custom cooked ROM inside of a game boy now.

If being on the front page constitutes a dead thread I must be a few minutes from death.
