edit by admin: LANGUAGE WARNING for profanity and racial slurs in that link!
Edit: Sorry about that, I forgot to mention that! The song is "My President is Black" by Young Jeezy.

i stink at making siggies
I agree. I've got nothing against Canada doing what it chooses to do, but we are America and built on the principles of individualism and freedom. I just happen to agree with the principles the country was founded on (rather than what it has become/is becoming)RockNRoll! wrote:He's gonna turn America into Canada, and that's not a good thing. Universal health care will tax to much, take too long, and not be as good. He better not mess with my gun rights. My main beef with him is his general support of the government meddling more in people's lives.

Scary.
I haven't been here in awhile, and looking back it's one of the worst ideas I ever had. I'm back and I'll be here for awhile, I was quite active 1 year ago and I hope to become that again.

Ya.
I don't think that last bit has happened yet, so it might still be in the clear.rules wrote: 3. No politics or religious talk. Past threads have proven the majority of benheck.com too immature to maintain a calm conversation about controversial issues and debates of religion and politics. Said topics constantly conclude with several hurt feelings, and a lock. Do not force or suggest your views and ideas upon others, this is not the place for it.

This is an exception.
And universal health care rocks. We don't pay a hell of a lot for it either. That's the point. People don't pay a whole lot for health care when they need it. Sure, it might be a little communistic, but I'd be happy not paying $30,000 in medical bills when something goes horribly wrong. If everyone in Canada paid me a dime, I'd have enough money for life. The same way of thinking can be applied to health care. The rough cost of yearly coverage per person, based on Wikipedia, is $5000 per year. Not bad.
That's the cost of a foot ache and prostate problems in America, according to this story that might make $5000 not seem like so much.

It may not cost much, but universal health care does stagnate the health care market. Really good doctors have little incentive to make a good name for themselves, and research in the medical field dwindles because it is no longer a free market. It may not seem like a bad thing, but it really hurts the people that have more difficult diseases and injuries.
