As some of you might of noticed youtube is starting to remove ALL their music. It is all explained in the link below. I have already helped. Please help us make youtube a free website like it used to be.

Huh. So that's why record labels' YouTube pages suddenly got lighter. As long as they leave the free video guitar lessons by various users alone...

As for people who want to put background music on their videos, you're just going to have to use music licensed under Creative Commons or a similar license, or use music that isn't under Warner's umbrella.

EDIT: That is, none of these people:

EDIT 2: "Never Gonna Give You Up" is safe because it's published under RCA, a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment. So far they haven't shown any symptoms of Sandy [you know what] Syndrome.

Yeah that's why my 3600 controller video was on here and not Youtube... they blocked it because I used that crappy Cher song.

Obviously Youtube has the right to do this, but it's pretty lame and since just about every video on there has music in the background, it could affect a lot of people.

When the Rick Astley video eventually comes down, the internet will probably up and crash.

But you know, who cares? YouTube is popular but I can't imagine it makes Google money. All it does is waste bandwidth and get us closer to Net Neutrality which would screw over sites like mine.

So maybe they need to die. Imagine how much productivity could be returned to America if YouTube didn't exist.

yeah... I guess you have a point. But it bothers me that they are removing videos that had virtually 5 seconds of music. And what really makes me want to punch babies is that i can't use Slipknot or Soulfly music in my videos :(

I could understand this kind of action against people that put up videos that have the whole song. But really most stuff that has only partial, like 30 seconds or less, who cares?!

These people might as well start walking up to people's cars and charge them money for listening to music on the radio, their iPod or any other means of listening to music. Cause the fact their trying to shut down the free distribution of music is just stupid.

Even if they were to cause YouTube to go under from what it currently is how is it going to stop a clone from being born in a country where the host can't be scared or put down. Many sites are doing this in fact, and it's only because their doing what the RIAA isn't, catering to it's audience.

I even tried to upload the video for Ben and got the same problem.

Ben Have you took my advice yet and tried to defend the claim on your video by claiming you didn't use the whole song. And that you reversed the song at one point?

Anyways, so this is why my videos haven't been taken down. All the music used on my video are from either MGM, Nintendo, some Christan music label, and who ever Discovery Channel dealt with when making the Monster Garage CD

I wonder what will happen to all of Metallicas stuff...their contract with warner is over now, so whatever concerts they put up shouldn't be blocked, but what about the old concert footages, and music. Hm. I rather enjoy watching the live show stuff that's put up.

YouTube is a bunch of jerks. They remove all the good videos, because they contain stupid stunts that people *might* do, have some copyrighted stuff, whatever. Even if the video badmouths something they remove it. Ebay is becoming similar in some ways too- if it 'violates copyright' they remove it. How long will it take before the whole internet becomes like that.

Oh no, I said something offensive. I'm going to get banned.

Dang. Now I'm gonna have to preview music I might be interested in by methods that let me keep the music so I won't have reason to buy it.
