Whats your favorite retro system and why?

Post by ValiantVenality »

No wars her. No this vs. that. Just whats your favorite system and why? I just got a new Sega Saturn today in the mail... And wow. This is pretty much my favorite system. Ive honestly been playing since 2:55 (get out of school at 2:43, and i live right next to my school) and its freaking awesome! I dont even have that many good games, and I still think its awesome. I got Madden 97, NHL 97, Quarterback Club 97, Virtua Cop, Daytona USA (My favorite game I use to play in the arcades) and Virtua Fighter. I'm having so much fun! So what about your opinions on your favorite games?

Close tie between Dreamcast and N64, and SNES is also in the running. GBC is the best handheld, hands down.

If you like Saturn, get a dreamcast, they are even more awesome.

Probably N64. IMHO the N64 is the best system ever.

My first console was an NES, but I'm not that old. It was my first console because my dad is a computer guy, and refused to get me a new console. Then we saw the NES in a thrift store for $10. There were actually two new old stock NES consoles. They were in poly bags but I think they were new. The manual was probably damaged with the box by water. In retrospect we should have bought both. After that I didn't get another console for a long time (though I did buy a GBA). Then Pokemon Colesseum for GC came out. At the time I was really obscessed with Pokemon so I wanted a Gamecube. That was my second console. Last summer I saw an N64 somewhere online and remembered how much I wanted one ages ago. Then I bought one and I've been having fun with it ever since.

I used to have a Dreamcast! But for some reason after a while it got like really old to me. Like I wouldnt play it for like a week and I'd come back and play it for like 15 minutues and I got bored. I have no idea why...

Did you use "backup" games, or any emulators?

Yes, I found out how to use emulators, but I already had them on my computer so it didnt really matter anyways. And I never used backup games, because i just didnt really know how.

Oh man I LOVE Goldeneye! It's my favourite console game ever, despite the graphics.

N64 without a doubt
I haven't been here in awhile, and looking back it's one of the worst ideas I ever had. I'm back and I'll be here for awhile, I was quite active 1 year ago and I hope to become that again.

Tough Call.

I'd have to say the Original NES, as it was my first system--and I still like to play it!

Close 2nds: SNES/Genesis.
