Internal memory card

Post by bicostp »

 Is it possible to add an internal memory card to a psxp? I have taken the little buggers apart, and there's practically nothing in them. All the components are on one side of the board, so I'd guess there would be no electrical-short problems...

yeah, you could do that. And to my understanding you could wire it in parallel with a memory card port with a pull up resistor and be able to use 2 ext. memory cards aswell.

Put a (let's just say) 10K ohm resistor on the power line of the internal memory card and wire it and the port in parallel. Since electricty likes to travel in the path which has the least resistance it will power the internal memory card only when an external one isn't inserted. I'm hoping a pull up resistor will work with controllers too, then there'd be no need for a switch between int. and ext. P1 controllers :)

why dont you just not have three memory cards , besides all you need is one that can hold a lot of blocks then just make that one internal and have the second player port open to put another mem card in.
yep. thats how you do it.

Sorry. I guess I should have put an "other" selection.
I live in New England, and the only things we have are yard sales, Gamestop, and Salvation Army.

Well, some of the members on the board said that's a way to make a vcsp have internal games and be able to auto switch when a cartridge is plugged in. It's the same operating principle. I've never tried it though.
