Thinnest N64p

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Hey Bacteria, as to your suggestion of putting a cart on the side, I have a suggestion that could take THAT to the next level. If one could slide an extra piece of hollow space in and wire the cartridge loading slot into there, the system would not have to increase width at ALL in order to fit the cart.

The real question should be:

The Smallest Volume N64p?

;)

Oh, and marshall, you can replace the stock N64 joystick with a GC joystick, you know, if you use a third party controller :).

You get a much better controller in a much smaller space :D!
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

I Believe is was Sifufs second N64p. No batteries, though.

I am making what I hope is the smallest, seeing as Gordon01 seems to have kinda left his work hanging.

Internal batteries is a must-have in order to qualify for thinnest N64p. I'm making one that I should be able to get just under 1 1/4" and 5" tall and 8" wide. See if you can beat that!

I will go measure my case. Because I have the attention span of a monkey, I will almost certainly get distracted on the way there.

I will have measurements up soon.

Also, you can fit an N64p in a gamegear. I have measured many times, it would require a horizontal, stick-off-the-back cart slot, but it could be done.

I completely agree. I also restate that works in progress mean nothing: as anyone can measure and make an assumption, or throw something together. It has to work like a normal N64p would. Finished or no cake!

Oh, and I nominate me for smallest. go #6!

From front:

133mm from top to bottom
233mm from side to side
55mm w/o cartridge from front to back
73mm w/ cartridge from front to back

Volume:
Without cartridge: 1704395mm
With cartridge: to be added

SS

EDIT: I checked the internals, and it turn out I can shave off about 22mm :P

EDIT2: Thanks Ben for pointing out the switch. :P

EDIT3: I just noticed that my volume calculations with the cartridge mean that the sides are also filled in, which they are not. I'll get some detailed ones later, if I get around to it, and if I actually care. :P

Just checked, mine is 5.5" tall, 8" wide, and 1.4" thick.

And SS, to be "Complete" you would also need the controller expansion slot, which portable has done yet. I plan to be the first.

Why have it? Simple.

Pokee-man stadium. Gameboy cart action, baby!

What? No you don't. There's no reason to have to include the controller expansion slot! You could add an internal memory card and be done with it.

Fine, reasons:

What if I want to play that japanese tetris game with the bio-sensor?

What if I want to swap saves using my gameshark?

What if I want to use a rumble pack?

What if I want to trade my pokemon to pokemon stadium 1/2!

What if I want to play mario gold linked with my gbc copy of it?

There are lots of reasons, and no N64p is complete without it, IMO. So all previous N64ps fail. :P

That thing is so ugly, it is great...

OH NOES!

Well, I should have guess you had beaten me.

But while mine is not the FIRST, it WILL be the smallest. This is going to be the smallest COMPLETE N64p, with dpad, expansion, and all.

Plus bluetooth headset transmitter. :D

What were the final measurements (No cart) on yours, SS?

Also, I think I am finally sending you your DS screen (Yeah, right, like you havent heard that before. ). I am sending late Christmas presents soon, I can work yours in. :D
