Lithium Ion Battery

Post by Sweebez »

Hey, This is my first time hacking the snes, so I'm a little confused...

I have a Npfa70 A series Sony camcorder battery
(the real big 12200 mah one), and i don't know how to hook it up.

Can anyone give me specific directions on how to connect it
to the snes and psone screen so that it can provide sufficient power?
Pictures, or drawings would be very appreciated.

So how many volts does it output?
If it's above 7.2V you should just be able to connect all the postives together and all the negatives together.

Oh yeah, and nice avatar :)

I was considering using four 3000mah RC car batteries, each are 12.5ounces I believe.

Actually, the battery isn't all that bad considering the power you receive.
The one I found online was only 65$ + shipping.

Heres the specs off of the Sony website:

That's pretty nice (as long as it's actually 12200mAh and not 1200mAh)

Yes its actually 12200 mah. You can check the Sony site. It retails for 99$.
Its a sweet deal, 30% off almost.

What a whopping battery! Probably weighs a bit though...

In my opinion, it's the only option for a 'hacker' with money left over for portable upgrades.

I looked more into that battery, and every data sheet I come across lists either 12200mAh or 1220mAh as the capacity, not sure which is right, but seeing as li-ions have a lower Wh/Kg ratio than li-poly batteries I'd have to say the capacity is actually 1220mAh.
