Moving on, you can get additives for the water so it is non-conductive i believe.
There's also non-conductive fluid you can buy for custom liquid cooling projects.

Yes I understand that this is not a get rich quick business. That isn't why I want to do this though. I have already given my reasons and as I said, if I do sell it, it would be to invest into another project.

As for watercooling, I have no idea what exactly I would need to use for this. I could get a nice kit for a PC, but I'm sure the Xbox would need a much less powerful setup than what I would put together.

That watercooling setup is pretty insane. Thanks for the link there. Alright, well now I'm strongly thinking about watercooling it as it was something I wanted to do on my computer, and after seeing those pics, I can move on to this project with it. But one thing, will watercooling use more space than air cooling? If so, I think I'll drop the idea because space is big for me right now, but if it's going to take less space I will most likely do it.

Another thing I have on my mind is the design, but I don't want to discuss that till I ge the internals down.

I think it decreases vertical space, but takes up more volume for the tank and pump and everything.

Since you make everything but the pump and fins yourself, it's pretty flixible, you can fit it wherever.

Alright, I'll look into it more.
Anyone have answers to the other questions, or any tips still? I'm hoping to have all the parts by the 20th.

Water cooling is a good option, but I made mine work without water cooling, saves a lot of space. Check out my thread to see how I done it.

Yea I saw your thread, that's a pretty nice laptop you made there! I kind of want water just to add more to the project, and so that there is a less of a chance it will rrod or overheat.

The one thing I still can't find is a good 17" LCD monitor. Is it possible for me to get just the screen, like a laptop lcd instead of a desktop one? It's hard for me to even find a 17" wide screen here in Toronto.

To use a laptop screen, you'll need a separate controller board, which is neither easy to find or cheap. Couldn't you just order a screen online?

Yea, I could, but I'm still finding trouble finding anything reasonably priced that will ship to me over here.

The problem is, by the time you have both the laptop LCD and the controller board for it, you will have spent more than you would if you bought a standalone LCD screen in the first place.

Thank you, sir.

The choice is between the following three, though not sure which one yet.

I'd prefer to use a monitor that others have used, just in case I need some help in doing something.

Also, when I go out to get this, I'll pick up some tools. What wattage soldering and desoldering irons should I get?

It took me a long time, but after searching craig's list I got a 17" LCD screen for $30. :D
