Sharp Twin Famicom, Power supply issue

Post by Lorfarius »

Earlier this week I decided to get my hands on a Twin Famicom. I knew there was an infamous problem with the drive belts failing so when I saw an auction with a brand new one fitted I thought I'd take the plunge and bought it.

It arrived a few days ago thanks to some express shipping with several games, plugged it in and played without problems. Was fine up until Thursday morning. When I turned it on...nothing. Nothing would come on screen and loading a disc (which usually causes the red LED light to flicker on switch on) didnt come back with any response.

At this point there was tears of rage and disappointment. I couldn't blame the seller as the console was working when it arrived and my only recourse was to ask the chap I bought the DC power convertor from to take it back and test it as I had no way of doing so myself. The adaptor arrived at his house today and he plugged it in to inform me that theres no issue with it which leaves only the console....so is there anything I can do? I'm desperate folks

I opened it up thinking I could do something inside but it all seems fine with no marks from what I could see. I have a few pictures here that might help someone out there :?
