Repair Flashing NES-help!

Post by ovy »

Hi,
I would like some help to repair my flashing NES.
I have no idea how I can make the flashing stop and that my games will start only by inserting them in it. Not always having to take it out try it again and spend like 20 minutes on it and not knowing if it will actually work.

So any kind of help will be appreciated.
Thank you very much.

Replace the 72 pin connector
That cures most

Theyr on ebay for 8.45
Or a gold one one ebay for 9

So get the gold for an extra .55

Yeah, or you can remove re-bend the pins on the connector for a decent temp fix (free).

see ben's book for instructions on how to do that.

Have you tried giving them a good clean? I use Ethanol on the cartridge connectors (have been doing for several years) and unless its a dodgy connector inside the console this seems to do the trick. I also believe Isoprypyl does the trick just as well.

If you're using Isopropyl, make sure it's at least 90% pure. Otherwise, it will leave a residue on the pins.
This post brought to you by David Duchovny's glorious nipples.

Yep sorry should have mentioned that bit! Id recommend buying from somewhere like a pharmacy/chemist. Which is easy to do in the UK, not sure about other places.
