Can you help me by giving your opinion?

Post by Aguiluz »

I have a little project and I need people's opinions.
What do you think about having large number people on your friends list at social networking websites? And why do you think so?
Thanks! ^_^

You'll have to be more specific.

Ok.

Well, on our "open discussion," we discussed about the social networking websites. It was a perfect way to fire away rants at the end of the day. Then we raised discussions about the Friends List. One side says it's ok, while another says it's a bad thing because being on a list does not make you his/her friend.

Anything else?

I don't see the appeal of social networking sites.

Neither do I. The only people you end up talking to are either creeps or IRL friends. I say talk to your real life friends in (get this!) REAL LIFE!

I only use facebook because my brother forced it on me. Its a nice way to let others contact me, but I don't reach out with it much.

Agreed! I have no desire to join any of those sites. My sister and brothers are addicted, though. I'm told it's a great way to keep in touch with our cousins from out of town, but I don't understand what's wrong with e-mail. I've had my personal info stolen already, and I don't share it on-line. I've gotten even more paranoid about joining sites like that because of that incident.

Besides, I'm shy and antisocial. I'm not going to talk to strangers unless it's in a situation like this, where there's a collection of knowledge to share.

I personally have my profile set to private so only friends can view it.

I think social networking sites are pretty ok for contacting people in real life, like me who is now on Canada, a whole hemisphere away from the Philippines.

lifeisbetterwithketchup: Well, I got a ton of creeps in my time, but I have a friend that I met on a forum so close that I just went haywire. PM me if you want to hear stories.

Myspace is great. No seriously.

It's an amazing way to meet new friends, meet friends of friends, and generally keep in touch with people when its difficult by other means (Email is incredibly slow, old-fashioned and crap), making plans with friends etc. etc.

I supoose if your terribly antisocial and hate humanity, then Myspace isnt a good idea.

EDIT: Just to add, a girl I was seeing found me through myspace.. if I didnt have it or something, then yeah.

Facebook and Myspace are ok, i use both

Facebook is the useful one, its a good way of sharing photos of nights out and keeping in touch with my friends who have all scattered around the country to uni. Plus All my work shifts are organised through a facebook group for my work place

Myspace is way way better for music though, its about the only reason i still use myspace.

Really what it comes down to is some people friend anyone and everyone. People they have never met or heard of. This is annoying and kinda rediculous. But friending people who may not be your "friend", but youve seen before is fine. I use facebook a lot for photos and comminucating with my friends. I mean, there are some people I feel weird calling up to ask for homework or whatever, its just easier to send them a message on facebook. Also for all you "meet your friends in real life blah blah" Thats just a stupid argument. Its not a replacement for real life contact. Its contact when you can't see them in real life, or for people who aren't your complete friends or wouldnt hang out with normally.
