Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Best DVD player to use for the N64

Post by dfukuba »

Hey guys,

I wanted to see if can get some input on what kind of DVD would be best to use for my 64boy. I'm in the process of getting everything together right now.

I was thinking just about any one should do just fine....but i want one with a built in battery so i can easily get to the batteries charging circuit and balancer.

any input would greatly be appreciated!

I think we should check to see if you can withstand 220 volts

my apologies, i should have been more clear.

i'm talking about the batteries in particular, i'm using a psone screen for the screen. the reason why i want to go with a dvd player is because the batteries have they own protection and charging circuit built in, which would very great for the power system. You can see how marshal used it in his l64 http://retroactive.be/l64/index_4.htm

I think this is a very elegant solution that many others should go with when building their portable.

You still are not very clear.

I think you are saying to use batteries from a DVD player for a portable system, in which case, it would be useful if you specify an example of a suitable DVD player and the battery voltage, amps and dimensions. Without this information, this thread is meaningless. Provide the information and it could be worth investigating.

Li-ions have built in protection and Li-po need a separate board to provide protection.
