Holy Crap its the MADCOW!
CronoTriggerfan wrote:Personally, I'm against ANY illegal drug use, only the weakest of people would need such crap in their systems to be happy or have a "good time".
So it makes a person weak to use an illegal drug but not to use a legal one. Personally I'm not much on the whole drugs are bad! Alcohol is bad, but not illegal. It is not illegal because people have shown the ability to use it responsibly. I know many people who use pot and mdma and do so in a manner I view as responsible. Have fun for a night and return to their lives the next morning. Many have good grades and are viewed by others as upstanding people.

Only the weak DEPEND on drugs. Those who use it for occasional recreation are not necessarily weak.

As for addiction. Well thats were responsibility comes in. Is a person who is addicted to an illegal substance weaker than one who is addicted to a legal one?

I await your response good friend.

I also feel that this thread should not be locked. It is merely a discussion about experiences and views on drugs. This thread is not about how to use or where to obtain them.

Banning Alcohol would be crap.

Same way they should remove the legal age for cigarettes

im with project_failure on this one, if they can justify alcohol and tobacco being legal when those two things combined kill thousands if not tens of thousands of people a year why dont they make weed legal? its never killed anybody! personally i dont like the stuff but i know people who do and they are fine upstanding individuals who act responsibly, why should they be punished anymore than somebody who smokes ciggarettes?

No, drugs in general are for the weak. Of course casual use of legal substances is fine, but I don't even think I'll engage in that for quite some time. Looking around at all the idiots in this world, I've realized that I am exceptionally lucky to have a brain that works quite well. Why, then, would I fill by body with alchohol and THC get everything all FUBAR?

EDIT for John: Any third grader can see that the numbers of people who have died from cigarettes are far greater than those of, say, weed. But I'm arguing from a moral/theological standpoint. Hopefully you can join me on this higher plane of thought should we continue our debate. :P In short, a response would be that I value the life of an intelligent individual who lives a shorter life due to lung cancer from cigarettes than the longevity of an ideologically weak, morally-compromised junkie.

Let's assume drugs are for the weak. Are you saying we shouldn't help those who resort to drugs in the first place as a crutch of any kind (social crutches and casual relaxation crutches included)? Are you so blind to the fact that people who use drugs either have it under control or need help? You're like the JT of drugs, man.

"You're a bad person, you use drugs."

How about following that up with "Let me help you"

Pointing the finger doesn't do anything positive for anyone but yourself, because apparently you get some sort of satisfaction out of stating they they are bad.

And you act so high and righteous. You're what, CTF, 16? 17? You've experienced very little of what the world has to offer to be acting in the one-sided manner you are.

Nothing against you personally, just my 2 cents!

:D

ugh, I hate when people start talking about "morals" when the subject at hand really has nothing to do with morals. Please, tell me how what one does to oneself can possibly be "immoral" since they are doing absolutely nothing to harm anyone else.

Yeah most of the time morals and theological factors should not be taken into account in law. Personally, I am in the camp to legalize weed even though I haven't used it or heavily used alcohol. I think having it illegal creates more problems than legalization does.

http://www.webmd.com/smoking-cessation/ ... is-century

Death from tobacco: 1 billion
Death from pot: 0

the only deaths I could even imagine is maybe some mega over eating?

If someone can get some numbers on death from pot then I will read it, but I'm thinking its gonna just about be zero.

I see no reason why it isn't legal.

Oh, Sorry! That sounded wrong.

I meant "Does pot affect your brain if you take it?" They should ban it if that's the case.

CTF: I would tell you how much I disagree with you, but Bill Hicks can say it better.
Warning for the stupid people: bad language in this video.
