I personally think it is a good idea. While watching movies with my friend on his Touch, I find it annoying for us to have to have our heads close together. Its not there for listening to your tunes, its for occasionally letting everyone else listen too.

Actually, if you listen to the launch speech, Steve Jobs puts a different spin on the speaker. Not ONCE does he mention it for playing music or movies. Instead, he flaunts it as something that makes ipod games more enjoyable. It is not meant to be high quality, it is just something that gives it one last feature it needs to be a decent handheld gaming platform.

I have an iPod Touch (1G) and it pwns all MP3 Players and even most PDAs for what I use it for.

I plan on buying one of the new iPod touch's when they come out...

I will never touch a Zune again, i swear to God. Had three of them malfunction and break on me. Zune's just suck so much.

I don't like DRM devices, I have various MP3 players, up to 2Gb each, cost up to £5 each on car boot sales, play whatever music you have without DRM restrictions.

Silly Bacteria, there's no DRM on iPods when you use MP3s. :P (Just when you buy music through their store.)
