Radica to Hip screen, How do i rewire to get 4 AA's?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Just a question... How good is the resolution on the Hip gear screen? Can you actually see anything?

Well, with the adjustment knob board, the screen look really really good when i was playing Sonic and Vagrant Story. I don't know how it looks like without the board but i heard it's still pretty good. If i find another hip screen, i would buy it. The only thing i dislike is the size of the screen, however, it's worth the 25 bucks.

you're right, they are. the connector to the screen in my version clearly has colored wires and yours does not. lucky for you, my original post has the wires listed IN ORDER so (assuming we have the same screen controller, which is somewhat doubtful) you can just follow the wire order and reverse-lookup to the correct function. you're better off trying to figure out what connects to what, instead...and then posting your results assuming you're confidant with your reverse-engineering skills.

as for the audio amp, you're right, it can run as low as 3V...i dont know why i said 6V was required, probably just tired.

A hip gear screen is a pretty safe bet if you own the system, being that if you just clip out the screen the controller works fine. Can only speak for the cube version, but the most reliable controller I have right now. Also, with Super Mario one, it's about a 1:1 pixel ratio. Pretty nice to see NES games look like they have sharp graphics.

Edit, sorry, forgot you're in england... Look in electronic stores, maybe stores where they sell gamecubes/ps2s/xboxs.

Some PS2 one are 20$ at Futureshop.ca

I just bough myself one. I'm really satisfied by the 2 I have on the gamecube, so I though I'd bough a PS2 one to do something portable or maybe just use it as a portable TV, anyway. 20$ is really little for this. :D
