New (and improved?) N64 controller by Hori

Post by Punchinello »

One thing that always discouraged me from playing the ol' 64 was the crappy analog stick. My old controllers really took a beating (thanks a lot Mario Party). Recently though, Hori has come out with a new N64 controller that I would like to get. Here is the pic:

You may notice the D pad is in the center, but what do you really use the D pad anyway? If you were going to play a game like mischief makers, you could just use one of the old controllers. The new style analog stick looks great and would be the maion reason why I would get it. The only drawback is the placement of the Z button. I cant tell if those two shoulder buttons on the right are R and L and Z is on the left side, or if R and Z are on the right side and L is in the usual spot. In any case, it wouldnt be that hard to get used to. Heres the major problem. Hori doesnt ship to the US and lik-sang/play-asia dont carry it. I really want one of these controllers though. Any suggestions (besides actually going to Japan/sending a friend there)?

A friend sending you one... Some of the members are in Japan, they might pick one up and ship it to you if you ask real nice...

smaller than most boards out there, I bet ;)........although if you look at Ben's N64p story, you'll see that you can cut up the official N64 controller quite a bit and have it still work :)...
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Someone at GameFAQs suggested maybe requesting a small shipment at lik-sang, do you think that is possible?

wait, I think I found a place that carries it

that does look like a awsome controllor.
bad thing i already cut a n64 controller and hopefully got the traces connected good enough to werk :D also since my case is prety decent size (tackle box walmart ) ill include the d pad. On that cool controller id say the R and Z are on the right. i think that analog would hold out longer cause it looks like its the same from a gamecube.

Nice, but the best thing for a great N64 controller would be a Gamecube Controller Adaptor
