Diablo III
Need I say more?
Personally I'm stoked. I know there are some that don't like this style of game, but I am so looking forward to it.

Yeah, and don't forget the expansion too catlegs.
I played lots of Diablo I and II and never had a mouse die or start giving me problems as a result. Heck, I was using the same mouse from like 1999 to 2007 when I upgraded to a nice Bluetooth laser one. I still have my old trusty Logitech and I use it when troubleshooting other computers usually.

I'm excited. I'm just hoping that there are more then just two character classes. Really what happened to the Druids or the Paladins? I hope their two of the other three to be mentioned.

Oh I'm sure there will be more. I don't think we'll see all the classes from D2, but there will be ones that fit the same rolls. The Witch Doctor seems like it's going to replace the Necromancer, so I think there will at least be a pure magic user (Sorcerer), a ranged fighter (Amazon), and a melee/magic user (Paladin or Druid).

I liked the diablo series. The problem is I'm more of a solo gamer, so it wasn't as exciting as other games for me. Everyone I know leveled way too fast for me to keep up with.
Still, an amazing game I'd get back to in a snap if I had some people to socialize with while playing.
One concern I have that I hope is fixed is all of the classes being equal. I mean, ice sorceress owned everything on the map with her blizzard attack. It was just not any fun. That's why I played other things.
Just watched the videos. The gameplay video is long, but a must. Think multiple pants explosions. I'd get this over SC2, to be honest. Maybe not the same replay value, but it looks like more fun.

Yeah, I prefer the hack & slash gameplay of Diablo to the micro-managing of Starcraft. The latter is a great game, but unless you invest a lot of time there's just no point in playing online.

I would definitely get this over Starcraft 2, I think most would. Either way, both games are going to be massive sellers and we should all buy stock in Blizzard now.Kurt_ wrote:I liked the diablo series. They bounced around the balance for Diablo 2 a whole bunch with the various patches. I remember for a while people were saying that the necro was the easiest to play. In any case, I don't remember the game being that hard if you built a really good character. As a result I was able to make significant progress into the game with some of my more bizarre builds (Can anyone say Melee Sorceress?)

Opinions? Thoughts?
Although clearly a noob, he makes a few good points. I can easily see the equip menu being inferior without that grid style D2 layout, and unfortunately just as easily see a giant 23 person Diablo run with paladins healing and the rest he said.
I would be very sad if this was world of warcraft 2, and it looks like it's very similar.
I also agree with the more colourful, less "dark" theme of D3. I wish we had Blizzard North back.
Let's all take a moment of remembrance.

I think it looks plenty dark and Gothic enough, and besides, there's still a few years to go before it's released.
As for the other things, I think it's too early to say for sure as to whether they're good or bad. Personally though, I welcome a revamped inventory where everything is the same size and I don't have to worry about moving stuff around to fit it all in there. Maybe that's just me though.
