What do you all think? Is it worth it? Didn't really fill up like a hoped...

Please discuss below, thanks!

Well, it was easier to modify than Portables of Doom...

If we were to do that, we should make it a big summer project. Make the information flow better, decide on a standard format, and remaster all the old MS Paint diagrams. (A common "sprite sheet" for pixel art components, sort of like what Skyone had for a while, would be best. That way even people with just MS Paint can make quality diagrams.) In its previous state, it was kind of a mess. :? But like the various chatrooms we've set up over the years, it will have a spike in interest then drop off for months.

But I think we should focus on getting phpbb 3 running first, because it looks like they're phasing version 2.0.X out by the end of the year. (No more security patches.) If you could set up a separate subdomain and give a select few FTP permissions to it we could help install all the necessary ad code and custom tweaks currently in place. Besides, it's not like the wiki didn't have any information the forums don't...

Pollified for simplicity's sake. :D

I miss the wiki. It was one of the things I really liked to read, and now that I know a bit more it's something I'd like to contribute to.

I say yes! I added a bunch of pages and stuff to it, and then I kinda forgot about it. If someone does a sprite sheet or all the components and stuff, I could do a bunch of them real quick. I wouldn't mind at all.

Be sure to create frequent backups to prevent history from repeating.

Ya know?

I agree with Bic that it needs to be more standardized.

The wiki got a lot of attention and was worked on extensively for a couple of weeks but only by a few members.

Many members wanted to use Skyone's wiki. This divide kept both from ever getting very far.

The question is how many members want to redo their write ups on the wiki. People like Bacteria and Life of Brian put a lot of information in their threads I'm not so sure think they would want to rewrite it.

tl;dr I think we should bring back the wiki but organize it.

It is not junk! It is assorted goods with no current use.

I'll write some articles and such (I don't have anything better to do all day, every day of the summer)

Bring it back, Ben!

I would like to have it back. Schematics were much easier to find on there rather than hunting through the threads and stickies

OK. If someone wants to set it up, I'll start a database and give them permissions to a subdomain folder.

Email me...
